Electrical Installation — New Builds & Extensions
Building, extending, or renovating in Accra? Electricals Ghana wires it properly — first and second fix, consumer unit, circuits, sockets and lighting, outdoor power, and EV or heavy-load supplies — to Ghana's wiring code, with a certified handover. Energy-Commission-licensed electricians since 1987.
Wiring a new build, an extension, or a renovation is the part you only do once — so it has to be done right the first time. Electricals Ghana designs and installs the full electrical system, from first fix to certified handover, to Ghana’s wiring code — Energy-Commission-licensed electricians since 1987. Installation Designed Around the Build, Not a Template
A good installation starts with how the property will actually be used — which rooms carry AC, where the water heaters and kitchen load sit, whether there is an outdoor kitchen, a borehole pump, or an EV charger to come. We design the circuits, the consumer unit position, and the cable sizes around that, so the board is not overloaded on day one and there is headroom for what you add later. Generic, copy-paste wiring is how installations end up with too few circuits and a board that trips under a normal Accra load.
What an Installation Covers
First Fix — Cabling Before Plaster
With the walls still open we run all the cabling, set the back boxes for every socket and switch, position the consumer unit, and lay the runs for lighting, power, AC, and outdoor points — sized and routed correctly so nothing has to be chased back into a finished wall.
Second Fix — Accessories & Board
Once the building is finished we fit the sockets, switches, and light fittings, install the consumer unit with its breakers and RCD protection, terminate every circuit, and connect the outdoor and heavy-load points.
Sockets, Lighting & Circuits
The right number of circuits and points for how each room is used — enough sockets so nothing runs off extension leads, properly separated lighting and power, and a board laid out so a fault in one area does not kill the whole house.
Outdoor, EV & Heavy Loads
Outdoor sockets and security lighting installed to survive Accra’s rain, plus dedicated, correctly sized and protected circuits for EV chargers, large AC plant, pumps, and workshop equipment — never spurred off existing sockets.
What a New-Build Installation Includes
| Stage | What we do |
|---|---|
| Design | Circuits, board position, cable sizes scoped to your plans and loads |
| First fix | Cabling, back boxes, board position, runs laid before plaster |
| Second fix | Sockets, switches, fittings, consumer unit, breakers, RCD |
| Outdoor & heavy loads | Weatherproof outdoor points, dedicated EV/AC/pump circuits |
| Handover | Every circuit tested, board labelled, certified documentation |
How We Run an Installation
- Design to the build — circuits and board sized to how the property will be used.
- First fix — cabling and boxes laid before plastering, to code.
- Second fix — accessories, consumer unit, and protection fitted and terminated.
- Test, certify & hand over — every circuit tested, the board labelled, documentation handed over.
What It Costs — Honestly
An installation is priced on survey, not from a list — the cost depends on the size of the property, the number of circuits and points, the board and protection specified, and whether outdoor or heavy loads are involved. We measure the job against your plans and give you an itemised quote before any work starts, never a surprise after.
Licensed & Certified
- Energy-Commission-licensed electricians (Certified Electrical Wiring Professionals) working to Ghana’s electrical wiring regulations (L.I. 2008) and the GS 1009:2012 wiring code

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you do the wiring for a new house or extension from scratch? Yes — we design the installation around your plans and real loads, do the first fix before plastering, the second fix after finishing, fit and protect the consumer unit, and hand over a tested, certified installation, all to Ghana wiring code.
Do I get a certificate when it’s finished? Yes — every circuit is tested and the installation certified by Energy-Commission Certified Electrical Wiring Professionals to L.I. 2008 and GS 1009:2012. That documentation matters for ECG connection and for selling or insuring later.
Can you wire for an EV charger or heavy loads? Yes — EV chargers, large AC, pumps, and workshop gear get their own correctly sized, protected circuit, not a spur off an existing socket.
How much does it cost to wire a house? It’s priced on survey — based on the property size, number of circuits and points, the board specified, and any outdoor or heavy loads. We scope it against your plans and give an itemised quote before any work starts.
